Summit School and Childrens Residence is located on nine lush acres of riverfront property in Upper Nyack, New York. Boasting tree lined grounds, newly reconstructed building facilities, and stunning views of the Hudson River, Summit is proud of its peerless physical presence.
The main campus is comprised of 7 buildings.
The main building is a renovated Tudor mansion. Originally constructed in 1929 by J. Dupratt White, founder of the Wall Street law firm of White & Case, the building was converted to Nyack Boys School in the 1950s. The school was converted to the Summit School and Childrens Residence Center in 1974.
The main building houses living quarters for children, clinic and administrative offices, kitchen, and dining rooms. Three other tudor buildings are used as additional student “cottages”. Opposite the main building is the main school building housing a portion of the Pragmatics Program.
A recently completed library/computer media center is integral to the Summit facility. It incorporates cutting edge computer technology, and inventive architectural design to create a quiet workplace for all students. A state of the art weight room/gym is located in the basement of this building which opened in 2003. A recently constructed medical/psychiatric center accounts for our 7th on campus building A satellite campus located less than a mile away houses the additional Regents level academic classes. The space incorporates classrooms and large meeting halls to accommodate all types of learning activities.
