The Summit program can be successful with many kinds of troubled children. However, since our campus is not physically restrictive, we cannot consider for admission those applicants who have demonstrated behaviors that require restriction for safety's sake. This would include those youngsters who have displayed a pattern of antisocial behavior, as well as those who have set fires, engaged in physical or sexual assaults.
Applicants may also be excluded from consideration for their inability to participate meaningfully in our program. Those in this category include those who are autistic, or who have significant intellectual limitations. In each case, however, an individual assessment is made as to the reliability and relevance of the excluding evaluation.
